Thanks for the info everyone! I normally don't have to worry in my area, vehicle thefts are not that common and there are a lot more high priority bikes around to entice the bad guys. I will be taking classes at the University of Pittsburgh in the fall, and that section of town is notorious for things vanishing. I plan on getting at least a disk lock and reminder (either yellow banner for the speedo or a ignition plug). I may also invest in a cable lock once I see the area I'll be parking in.
